At 12:39 a.m. the first calls come into 911.
First officers arrive in 90 seconds.

Federal law enforcement sources told ABC News that Holmes bought a ticket to the movie, slipped out of the theater once it began and propped open the emergency exit before gathering his weapons and gear and coming back into the theater. Once inside, he opened fire.

Although it has been in practice for some time, the 2002 NFPA 72 has information about shutting off interfering sounds and turning lights on in case of emergency. A good example where this is essential is in a movie theatre. If the fire alarm activates during a movie, the projector will be turned off, and the house lights will be turned up so occupants can hear the messages and find the nearest exit. NFPA 730 is the Guide for Premises Security and addresses construction, protection and occupancy features from residential dwellings to large industrial complexes. NFPA 731 is the Standard for Installation of Electronic Premises Security Systems and covers requirements for installation of all types of security systems.

Why didn’t the alarm sound?

DHS Roll CALL RELEASE 5-17-2012 – Terrorists’ Interest in Attacking Theaters and Similar Mass Gatherings (PHOTO 1)

In June, the Public Intelligence website posted a DHS-FBI bulletin warning that terrorists planned to attack theaters in the United States. The official use only “Roll Call Release” issued on May 17 states that terrorists have an interest in attacking theaters and “similar mass gatherings.”

The DHS and FBI encouraged theater owners to monitor their patrons and report any suspicious behavior to them. “These recent instances [in Mogadishu, Somalia] demonstrate that mass gatherings such as those associated with theaters likely remain attractive terrorist targets. We encourage facility owners and operators, security personnel, and first responders to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities and behaviors that may indicate a potential attack.”

The shooter was completely dressed in black from head to toe, no skin or even his eyes were showing. Shooter never spoke a word. Police and witnesses said he was wearing a ballistic helmet, a bulletproof vest, leggings, a throat protector, a groin protector, a gas mask (goggles) and protective gloves.

Witnesses say the shooter said nothing as he repeatedly fired into the audience.

Upon meeting with Obama: from the hospital, survivors Alee Young, who was shot in the neck, and Stephanie Davies, who kept her friend from bleeding to death, remember it differently. “I see him up there,” said Davies, “and I’m hearing him yell at people, and then you just hear the rounds going off: Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!” Off-camera, Davies told reporters, “He would shout, ‘What are you doing? I said stand up!’ And he would pick people up. I saw him stand over someone. I just see hair and him holding the shirt and — boom.”

Witnesses cannot even identify the color of the shooters hair.

6:15 – “A suspect in a gas mask” and another officer asked “Is  that the dude in the white car you’re by?”

6:49 – “That white car in the rear of the lot – is that a  suspect?” The response is “Yes! We’ve got rifles, gas mask, he’s  detained right now, I’ve got an open door going into the theater.”

9:58 – “One of the shooters might be wearing a white and blue plaid shirt” and the  dispatcher responds, “Copy, outstanding shooter possibly wearing a  white and blue plaid shirt.”

11:43 – “The suspect is saying that he’s the only one but I’m getting conflicting  suspect descriptions from the witnesses out here.”

24:42 – “Copy,  all units … male with a red backpack and another one possibly in black  clothing headed toward Alameda” Avenue.

25:00 – “Suspect is going to be male, unknown race, black camo-type outfit,  believed to be wearing a vest, gas mask and multiple long guns.”
That update is reiterated by another officer at 31:15.

27:00 – “Secondary (bomb) device found”

27:10 – “Metro 10 OK. Clear. Listed James Holmes.” (White car vehicle registration?)

30:31 – “Any unit. Unknown problem. 1690 South Moline st., 1690 South Moline st. We have a report of an unknown problem, at least three people dragging a person into an unknown description vehicle and last seen northbound on the street.”

31:00 – “1690 South Moline Street”

31:30 – “Denver Tac 37 go with your update. Suspect in all black (police SWAT
uniform), black tactical vest, black tactical helmet, (?), gas mask, black
tactical gear, at least 1 handgun, (long gun, 1 possible additional long gun.”
(James Holmes still not arrested)

38:10 – “Clear the suspect’s car with bomb unit”

38:30 – “Secondary device” need bomb squad for suspect’s vehicle, all police to leave area behind Theater 9″

39:10 – “SWAT inside in gas masks has theater contained and secure”

45:00 – I really need somebody to confirm the white vehicle outside the theater
plates. Check white vehicle tag 119ROC (James Holmes) “Check with key witnesses
inside the theater. We need to confirm suspect descriptions (black SWAT police
uniform, gas mask and helmet, no one saw face. 5′ 9″ tall shooter but James
Holmes is 6′ 3″). I want to make sure we’re not looking for anybody else.”
(So the investigation and search for suspects ends right here. No mention of James
Holmes’ name.)

Even after 45 more minutes pass – making it more than an hour after  Holmes was detained – the officers still mention other potential  shooters.

57:00 – “I had another witness say green camoflage pants.” Stop all radio
communications, unable to figure out how to patch radio channels together”

1:03:30 – “Doctor said a bomb went off somewhere.”

1:10:30 – “Hyundai Accent Tennessee plate 074VPD suspected bomb third vehicle directly in front of doors, “possible it’s just a thermos but hard to tell.” (not James Holmes)

1:12:20 – Vehicle tag 074VPD “clear address in Columbia Tennessee” (Heather Wolfe Smith and school teacher Lucas Smith who was shot from Knoxville TN?)

1:14:21: – “I need somebody to shut this movie off in 9, how do we shut the movie
off in 9?“movie was still on in Theater 9

1:16:16:  – “Talking to people making statements, sounds like we  have possibly 2 shooters, one that was in Theater 8 seated, another one  that came in from the outside into Theater 9. Sounds like it was a  coordinated  attack.”

1:16:55 – “Every unit,  possible 2nd shooter still at large… Keep the media away from  them.”

1:28:00 – “Secondary device was found in the main (parking) lot of the theater, all units to evacuate” (red plastic gas can in James Holmes’ car trunk?)

1:31:27 – “Again,  no witness are to be released, even if they’ve been spoken  to.”

1:48:20 – “Start search of suspect’s vehicle with bomb dog” (James Holmes)

1:48:50 – “Search gray charcoal vehicle with Tennessee plates 2 door
hatchback Hynundai”

1:57:30 – “Victor 50 to Edward 10 switch to phone so no recording of audio”

At no time was there any description of the arrest of James Holmes; no mention that James Holmes is even under arrest. No mention of arresting officer’s name. No mention of what clothing color James Holmes is wearing, nor if he is wearing black police SWAT uniform. James Holmes’ jail booking photo does not show him wearing black police SWAT uniform only orange prisoner jump suit. During a real arrest the officers will name all these events in the radio transmissions.

Aurora Police Chief Daniel J. Oates (born January 2, 1955) started with the NYPD as a beat cop on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in 1980. He rose to be the Commanding Officer of the Intelligence Division.  In 2001, just weeks before the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks, he finished his 21-year career with the NYPD. At which time, he became the Ann Arbor Police Chief. In 2005, Oates left Ann Arbor and became the police chief in Aurora, Colorado.

Oates is currently the police chief in Miami Beach. He is a charter member of the federal Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council.

Oates is a good friend of NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly. It was Kelly who first broke the news to the media about Holmes’ red hair and him calling himself the “Joker”.  Interestingly, this was before the information was released to the media in Colorado.

New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Friday, “We have some information. Most of it is public. Clearly looked like a deranged individual. The alleged gunman in the attack on a packed theater in Colorado identified himself as Batman’s arch-enemy “The Joker” after he sprayed bullets into a midnight showing of “Batman: The Dark Knight Rises.” “He had his hair painted red, he said he was ‘The Joker,’ obviously the ‘enemy’ of Batman,” Kelly said at a news conference, in which he said security at New York City theaters was being increased.

Why is he making this announcement, even before the Colorado based media?

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, one of the nation’s highest-profile supporters of gun control, said Friday (the morning of the day of the shooting) on WOR 710 AM in New York, speaking about Obama and Romney; “No matter where you stand on the Second Amendment, no matter where you stand on guns, we have a right to hear from both of them, concretely, not just in generalities, specifically, what are they going to do about guns?”

Gun control?

The UN Arms Trade Treaty, which has been under final discussions in New York since July 3rd, and is due to wrap up on July 27th, is a new step in the direction of gun confiscation, despite its announced aim of limiting only the export of weapons from one nation to another. Once the Treaty is signed, it will need senate ratification to go into effect and impact the 2nd Amendment. That ratification is the hard part for gun-control advocates. The tragedy at the Batman premier on July 20 could act as a pressure wave-front on senators to rubber-stamp the treaty.

Forbes wrote about this quite extensively, warning readers about the coming gun confiscation effort related to the UN treaty. The story was authored by Larry Bell and says the UN treaty could “override our national sovereignty, and in the process, provide license for the federal government to assert preemptive powers over state regulatory powers guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment in addition to our Second Amendment rights.”

The only near-certainty Friday was that the gunman had acted alone and not as part of a terrorist group or other conspiracy. Federal law enforcement sources said that Holmes bought a ticket, entered the theatre, then left and returned through an emergency exit.

“We are not looking for any other suspects,” Oates told reporters. “We are confident that he acted alone, but we will do a thorough investigation to make sure that is the case.”

Given the witnesses interviews (which will follow in this post) and the minimal passage of time, how can they determine this?

Analysts said that means it’s likely there’s only one main point of legal dispute between prosecutors and the defense. “I don’t think it’s too hard to predict the path of this proceeding,” said Craig Silverman, a former chief deputy district attorney in Denver. “This is not a whodunit. … The only possible defense is insanity.”

When asked about the strength of the case against the alleged shooter, Oates responded, “We will convict him. Yes.”

Oates said there were no off-duty or on-duty cops at this multi-cinema, sold out theater at the midnight showing where gang violence is often present.  Strangely enough, patrons, (and I personally am a witness to this), say the theater is always guarded by uniformed police and undercover security.  Other theaters operated by the Cinemark did provide such protection for the busy premiere of the Batman film “The Dark Knight Rises.” Officers hired as guards are generally armed and usually spend their time roaming the complex, checking bags or dealing with minor disputes.

Why were the officer(s) not there?

Corbin Dates, sitting in the 2nd row, said to local station:“As I was sitting down to get my seat, I noticed that a person, with a goatee, came up to the front row, the front right, sat down, and as credits were going, it looked like he got a phone call. He went out toward the emergency exit doorway, which I thought was unusual to take a phone call. And it seemed like he probably pried it open, or probably did not let it latch all the way. He appeared to wave someone in. As soon as the movie started, somebody came in, all black, gas mask, armor, and threw a gas can into the audience, and it went off, and then there were gunshots that took place.” Also mentions the shooter was 5′ 8″ – 5′ 9″, and James Holmes is 6′ 3″.

Dates changed his story in court, said shooter had orange hair.

I wonder why he didn’t say that in the beginning?

NOTE: a guy with the name Corbin J. Kent who looks exactly like the main witness “Corbin Dates/Dayton, has an acting/modeling profile and lives in Aurora Colorado.

Another eyewitness articulated that he believed the accused might have been helped because he noticed two smoke canisters coming from two different directions of the theater.

We were maybe 20 or 30 minutes into the movie and all you hear, first you smell smoke, everybody thought it was fireworks or something like that, and then you just see people dropping and the gunshots are constant,” said witness Christ Jones. “I heard at least 20 to 30 rounds within that minute or two.”

Eyewitness, Eric Hunter, introduces the premise that a shooting suspect walked out of the original theater, on the east side, in a gas mask, and tried to open the door to Theater 8, next door. The suspect pounded on the door, but Eric Hunter kept the door closed and saved two girls.

Was the shooter just walking around outside, in a gas mask; did he have time?

NOTE: Exits in theaters 9 and 10 share the same hallway to the outside. Witness Eric Hunter in an interview on ABC news talks about trying to exit 10 via the Exit where he sees two girls with wounds followed by the shooter in the exit hallway adjoining with theater 9. Eric helps the girls into theater 10 and holds the door shut as the shooter pounds on it attempting to gain access. The original interview, as alluded to in the ABC follow up interview, is no longer available. ABC for some reason, though they never have before for any other story or even other Aurora related YouTubes, ordered YouTube to pull multiple copies of that interview (only), even terminating the account of the poster.

Another eyewitness account: “Smoke was filling Theater 8, as well” – “Alarm was sounding in Theater 8.”  In another theater, other than Theater 8 or 9, witness says the emergency lights went on and the alarm was sounding, saying, “Murder in the theater.”

Alarm worked in this theater?

Police almost immediately arrested a suspect, who was next to his white Hyundai outside a rear entrance to the theatre.

Initially, the captured shooter was identified as Mohammad Alam, an Iranian immigrant. The identity of the other shooter was still unknown, at the time,

Oates stated. “Holmes was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, police said, adding he didn’t resist when he was arrested,” reports a local CBS news affiliate.

How does a guy kill all these people and then meekly give up?

The original report was of the suspect’s car of having Tennessee license plates. A law enforcement source told CBS News, that one rifle, two handguns, a knife, a bullet proof vest, a ballistic helmet, a gas device, a gas mask, military SWAT clothing and unidentified explosives were also found in Holmes’ car.

How can this be when the assault rifle was left on the ground by the exit?

Police Dispatch 27:10 – “Metro 10 OK. Clear. Listed James Holmes.” (White car vehicle

Hypothesis issued on the internet: Skeptics cite the police exchange as evidence that Holmes was  found in his locked car with a gas mask on and  heavily drugged,  not outside the car as Oates said. That situation would have forced first  responders to break  the passenger side window and get a white  stretcher board – one was left under Holmes’ car – in preparation  to transport him.

A motive for the shooting remains unknown.

Complex weapons gear, bomb-making gear, “flammable” booby trap devices, ammunition, multiple magazines, bullet-proof vest, groin protection, ballistic helmet, SWAT uniform. The four guns retrieved from the shooting were purchased legally at three Colorado gun stores between May 22 and July 6, CBS News correspondent Bob Orr reports. A federal law enforcement source told CBS News that Holmes spent $15,000 fortifying his arsenal online.

How does an unemployed medical student afford all this?

Authorities found a shipping label from in a dumpster near Holmes’ apartment, the source said.

No trash pick-up, I guess?

District Court Judge William Sylvester issued an order barring law enforcement and attorneys from speaking publicly about the case, in an effort to protect Holmes’ constitutional right to a fair trial.

No evidence goes out to the public.

There was a police shield against the side of the building near the rest of the discarded gear. (marked as Evidence – yellow tent).

Why would the shooter need a Police Riot Shield and how would he get this particular model?

In 2007, Google Earth street level shows two security cameras mounted on the back of each end of the theater, both pointing down towards where the car was parked and the emergency exit of the Number 9 Theater – as of the day after the shooting these cameras have been removed.  Also, there are cameras in the front of the buidling, as well. But, there continues to be no footage of Holmes coming into the theater and buying a ticket.

Where is the video?

There has not yet been an official explanation of the orange duffel bag, gas can and ballistic gear found at a different part of the parking lot than the ballistic gear found near Holmes’ car.

A gas mask was found at the north end of the building (marked Evidence #1). The gas mask was found a long way away from where James Holmes was arrested and the other equipment was found near his car.

There is more blood on the concrete sidewalk at the far end of the building, near the corner, close to where the gasmask lays. (marked Evidence #3)

Police Dispatch –
1:04:39 318: “I got another victim on the north side of this theater in the parking lot.”
1:10:09: “I’ve got a child victim, I need rescue at the back door of theater 9 now!”

Hypothesis issued on the internet: A security camera mounted on the back of the theater was pointing down toward where the car was parked and the Number 9 theater emergency exit. Just past where the camera was on the north end of the building, is the exact location where the gas mask was found, as if the assailant traveled the length of the building and dropped the mask once he was out of the view of the camera.

Why would Holmes walk all the way down to the end of the building and drop a gas mask and then return to his car?

And if first responders dropped this gas mask, why would it be marked with an Evidence tent?

Sources tell KDVR someone made either a call or a text from the person of interest’s phone threatening violence if James Egan Holmes was not released from jail. That call prompted police to issue an alert to find and detain him. The associate’s Facebook page shows he has a master’s degree in bio-medical science. Anshutz Medical Center confirms he is in their doctorate program, the same program from which Holmes withdrew several months ago.

Holmes appeared to come from a stable family. His father is a manager at a software company. His mother is a nurse.

Out of the 21,000 students at the University of California Riverside, Holmes was among the very brightest, according to the school’s chancellor. Admitted on an academic scholarship, he graduated with honors in 2010, with a degree in neuroscience, considered one of the most challenging scientific curricula.

Professors have also spoken favorably of Holmes, who was an honor student and “academically, he was at the top of the top.” Kelly Huffman, an assistant professor of psychology at University of California Riverside described him as “a smart and quiet guy.” It’s one of our most rigorous majors and it leads to careers in medicine, in science, in research, in a whole host of allied health areas.

James Holmes was a graduate student in neurosciences at the University of Colorado at Denver’s Anschutz Medical Campus, pursuing a PhD in neuroscience, reports ABC News. According to news reports, this sudden violent rampage was completely out of character for James Holmes, who was described as “shy.”

Until a month ago he had been enrolled in a doctoral course at the University of Colorado school for medicine. But he dropped out of classes in June.

New York Times reports: Billy Kromka, a pre-med student at the University of Colorado, Boulder, worked with Mr. Holmes for three months last summer as a research assistant in a lab of at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Mr. Kromka said he was surprised to learn Mr. Holmes was the shooting suspect. “It was just shocking, because there was no way I thought he could have the capacity to do commit an atrocity like this,” he said. “He spent much of his time immersed in the computer, often participating in role-playing online games…”

A former high school classmate, Keith Goodwin, called Holmes a “generally pleasant guy,” and stated that “James was certainly not someone I would have ever imagined shooting somebody.” Dan Kim, a 23-year-old student at University of California San Diego, called Holmes a “super-nice kid,” “kinda quiet” and “really smart.”

“People are using the word ‘loner’ to describe him, and that’s not a fair representation,” said a fellow doctoral student at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus who knew Holmes and agreed to be interviewed on condition of anonymity.

“He has friends. He’s quiet and keeps a low profile, but we’re all like that. We’re PhD students. There’s not a lot of time to do other stuff,” the student said.

University spokeswoman Jacque Montgomery said Holmes was one of six doctoral students in neuroscience at the school to be funded by a training grant from the National Institutes of Health. The grant is dedicated to supporting “outstanding neuroscientists and academicians who will make significant contributions to neurobiology,” said Montgomery. Holmes did not give the university any reason for his abrupt withdrawal from the doctoral program last month. Police on campus said they had no contact with him during his studies.

“James Holmes applied for the University of Arizona’s graduate program, on Feb. 3-6, 2011, in neuroscience and was not accepted,” UA spokesman Johnny Cruz said Friday.

Even though a California administrator described Holmes as a “top of the top” honors student, a former researcher at Salk told the Los Angeles Times that Holmes wasn’t a good worker and shouldn’t have ever been accepted into the summer program. “His grades were mediocre. I’ve heard him described as brilliant. This is extremely inaccurate,” John Jacobson said. Jacobson, who Holmes listed as a mentor but said he merely ran the lab in which Holmes worked,, said he was accepted into the camp because he had a background in computer programming. But when he was tasked with writing code for an experiment, he failed. “What he gave me was a complete mess,” he told the paper. Another researcher at Salk said Holmes had acquired a reputation as a “dolt,” though he admitted he never knew Holmes personally.

Holmes apparently has no background. “He’s not on anybody’s radar screen — nothing,” said a peace officer in a NYT article. “This guy is somewhat of an enigma. Nobody knows anything about him.” Mr. Holmes’s only criminal history is a traffic summons, the authorities said. “Neighbors report that he lived alone and kept to himself,” Oates added.

Holmes was currently collecting unemployment…

Hypothesis issued on the internet: There is already conjecture that James Holmes may have been involved in mind-altering neuroscience research and ended up becoming involved at a depth he never anticipated. His actions clearly show a strange detachment from reality, indicating he was not in his right mind. That can only typically be accomplished through drugs, hypnosis or trauma (and sometimes all three).

Holmes allegedly told his Colorado jailers that he does not know why he is behind bars. According to the Daily News, an employee of the Arapahoe County Detention Center said the jailers believe Holmes is faking amnesia.

In Aurora, police converged on Holmes’ apartment, in a modest neighborhood about six kilometers from the theatre, about 2 a.m. Friday, after he indicated that it contained explosives.

“After his arrest, Holmes told police about ‘possible explosives in his residence,‘ Oates said. When police searched his apartment, they discovered it was booby-trapped and evacuated surrounding buildings, police said. Oates said bomb technicians are determining how to disarm flammable or explosive material in the third-floor apartment. He said, “police could be there some time.”

Continuing from CBS: “He said pictures from inside the apartment are fairly disturbing and the devices look to be sophisticated, adding the booby-traps were ‘something I’ve never seen.’

Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said, “Holmes’ apartment is booby-trapped with a ‘sophisticated’ maze of flammable devices.” It could take hours or days for authorities to disarm it, reports Yahoo News.

Jim Yacone from the FBI said he had a lot of experience in dealing with explosive devices, but rarely saw “anything this complex”.

Why would a man who wanted to turn himself in need to booby trap his house? If you were really an evil-minded Joker trying to kill people (including cops), why would he warn them about the booby trap in advance?

Where did he get the in-depth knowledge to booby trap his house, that was so impressive – even to the FBI?

Where does an unemployed, introverted medical school student get the training to deploy sophisticated booby traps, tactical body armor, weapons systems and more?

“That’s totally not the same guy… Plus, any photo shop novice can tell that the bozo guy has had some manipulation done to his photo… It’s not even a good job…”

Why is his mug shot in an orange jail shirt, unless he could not take a picture upon booking – ads to the theory that he was too drugged when they arrested him.

Aurora Police Department were called to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora on Monday morning after the psychiatrist, who is also a professor at the school, reported receiving a package believed to be from the suspect. Although that package turned out to be from someone else and harmless, a search of the Campus Services’ mailroom turned up another package sent to the psychiatrist with Holmes’ name in the return address, the source told

A second law enforcement source said authorities got a warrant from a county judge and took the package away Monday night. When it was opened, its chilling contents were revealed.  “Inside the package was a notebook full of details about how he was going to kill people,” the source told “There were drawings of what he was going to do in it — drawings and illustrations of the massacre.” Among the images shown in the spiral-bound notebook’s pages were gun-wielding stick figures blowing away other stick figures.

Holmes’ psychiatrist, Dr. Lynne Fenton, worked with the U.S. Air Force in San Antonio, Texas, in the early 1990s.  Chief of Physical Medicine, United States Air Force, San Antonio, TX, 1990-1993 and Staff Physiatrist, Wilford Hall United States Air Force Medical Center, San Antonio, TX, 1990-1993

Dr. Lynne Fenton’s biography has now been deleted from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus website.

The semiautomatic assault rifle used by the gunman in a mass shooting at a midnight showing of the latest Batman movie jammed during the attack, a federal law enforcement official told The Associated Press, which forced the shooter to switch to another gun with less fire power.” The chief declined to say whether the weapons were automatic or semi-automatic, but “he could have gotten off 50 to 60 rounds, even if it was semi-automatic, within one minute,” Oates said.  He also has said that he had no way of knowing how many rounds were fired by the shooter. “You just smelled smoke and you just kept hearing it, you just heard bam bam bam, non-stop. The gunman never had to reload. Shots just kept going, kept going, kept going,” one witness told ABC News.

Hypothesis issued on the internet: That being said, would this man really plan an attack without proper research? You’re telling me that he planned to use an un-reliable weapon to inflict mass casualties? Or perhaps that rifle may have been shot before, its quality reduced, or that the weapon wasn’t properly maintained? It could have been dirty? Sorry but I don’t think a smart man accused of planning an attack with “(“calculation and deliberation,” police said Saturday.)” would let these kind of variables have any effect on his attack.

Only a serious weapon malfunction requires you to abandon a rifle of this class. One usually may just rack the bolt back, ejecting the misfire, and continue. Double feeds, are usually the condition needed to abandon a rifle of this class. A malfunction that is far less common. “The rifle Jam” is what leads me to disbelief; you’re telling me this man didn’t do his homework before purchasing?

AP tweeted that Holmes had a high-capacity, drum-style ammo clip (100 rounds) in the rifle that can carry much more ammunition than a box-shaped magazine.

Police Dispatch at 17:40 – “Rifle 5.56 caliber”

Picture shows standard clip in the rifle right outside the emergency exit.

Hypothesis issued on the internet: Why would he need a knife if he planned to just allow himself to be captured? He killed innocent people, and then allowed himself to be captured? Indicating perhaps a change in perspective. The 1st change I would think is he “Gave Up” but knowing that he had innocent blood on his hands, and he was finished, his actions were un-reversible, why didn’t he just take the easy way (suicide) out? Doesn’t make sense…this man is supposed to be very smart.

A knife was found next to the gas mask at the north end of the building.

Hypothesis issued on the internet: Robert Holmes has crippling evidence of the Libor Scam using his recently completed computer algorithms uncovering the biggest bank fraud in history.

Lil Wayne’s video for “My Homies Still” which came out three days before the shooting. At around the 3:35 mark in the video, Lil Wayne and his gang are transported to a movie theater where they dance, sing and throw popcorn at the screen. The theater is occupied by a number of skeletons. In the main setup for this scene, there are 12 skeletons visible – the exact number of people who lost their lives in the tragedy. Later in the video, the camera pulls back to reveal many more skeletons (upwards of twenty, by our count), but it still seems to be an eerie coincidence.

One of the pre-movie trailers paired with Dark Knight Rises was soon-to-be-released Warner Bros movie Gangster Squad, in which there is a scene where a shootout takes place in a movie theater. So just half an hour before the real thing, the slain Aurora audience may have watched four gunmen burst through the screen and fire automatic weapons into the (fictional) audience.

In a 1986, a Batman comic book was entitled “The Dark Knight Returns,” in which a lone gunman with reddish orange hair goes into a crowded theater and starts shooting.

The tragedy that played out in an Aurora movie theater Friday was ironically paralleled as a classroom learning experience in a medical school in Parker the same day. Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine is in the middle of holding specialized classes in disaster life support for 150 second-year medical students. Along with response to natural disasters like hurricanes and floods and terrorist attacks, one of the scenarios being used to train the students is how to respond if a shooter fires at people in a movie theater and also uses a bomb in the attack. “The irony is amazing, just amazing,” said Rocky Vista Dean Dr. Bruce Dubin. (SIMILAR TO 911 and the LONDON BOMBINGS)

(it would be irresponsible to not question the “official story” of the “crazed lone gunman)

The first was the fact that early reports had claimed the shooter was still wearing his equipment when the cops first found him next to his car and he was still carrying all of his weapons except for one Glock 40 which was found in his car. This is an important aspect of the case because how else would they have known he was the shooter amid all that chaos. Also interesting is the fact that they didn’t just shoot the guy. He was apparently still carrying an assault rifle and a shotgun and decked out in tactical armor… so how did he just end up surrendering “meekly” as some reports claim? The answer is simple: he wasn’t carrying the guns and he wasn’t still wearing the armor. So, how did they know they had the right guy?

“Holmes was apprehended within minutes of the 12:39 a.m. shooting at his car behind the theater, where police found him in full riot gear and carrying three weapons, including an AR-15 assault rifle, which can hold upwards of 100 rounds, a Remington 12-gauge shotgun, and a .40 Glock handgun. A fourth handgun was found in the vehicle.”  But this report flies in the face of the evidence at the scene and the vast number of police photos taken.

From photos you can clearly see he had stripped off his armor on the way to his vehicle and in fact, the AR-15 was found just inches outside the exit door, meaning he could not have still had it when the cops found him unless they let him walk back the 30 or so feet to the door to lay the weapon down there.

It’s important to understand the layout of the location where the assailant left the building to return to his car. Let’s put that into perspective right off the bat.

As you can see from the compilation of crime scene photos below, the assailant left the building from the door between the two sections and next to the utility area beside where he parked. He could not have found a parking space closer to that door if he tried. As you can see, his Ar-15 was found right beside the door where he apparently dropped it upon leaving the theater. The blood makes it clear that was the exit to the theater where the massacre took place.

So if he did indeed drop his primary weapon at the door when he left, how did the cops know he was the assailant? It’s possible he was still carrying the shotgun and wearing the body armor and the gas mask, but that seems to be contradicted by other photos with one VERY interesting piece of evidence…

Notice where the gas mask location is, at the end of the building. That’s VERY important…

When I first started researching this article, I was consumed by the question of locating the security cameras covering this business’s parking and access areas. I had wondered why there has been literally no discussion of the security camera footage from that night.

What I found may be more damning than I could have imagined: yes there are security cameras mounted on the building on the front and apparently on the back shooting down the length of the rear of the building and if someone were walking down that sidewalk after leaving that exit, then their face would be clearly visible on that camera because they would have been walking directly toward it.

So, if an assailant were to leave the theater via that exit and head in that direction, then obviously he would want to leave his mask on until he was out of the viewable area of the camera.

As it turns out, the gas mask seems to have been dropped directly under the camera itself.

But why head in that direction?

Because it is the closest access to the main road right next to the theater and a waiting vehicle and escape. It wouldn’t do to try to blend in with the crowd because the police may detain witnesses and start asking questions they might not want to answer. Plus then there would be a record of the individual on site and that might not be good in the future. The best bet would be to get off property as soon as possible and that exit path provides the fastest way to do that.

Is it possible that James Holmes was set up?

Think about this:

  • James Holmes goes out Tuesday night drinking and someone doses him.      They do it early Wed morning so they have time in his apartment to set up      those elaborate traps (how would James have known how to construct those      anyway?)
  • They keep him drugged and off the radar till Thursday night when      they go to the theater. They make sure to park in that spot, right next to      the exit of the theater.
  • The assailant goes in, fakes the phone call, comes out, and goes to      the car where James is still drugged, gets the gear on, goes in and      attacks the innocent civilians.
  • Then the assailant comes out the exit door, leans against it while      dropping the gun and removing almost all of his gear with the exception of      the mask.
  • He runs past the car dropping the gear next to it in a heap, opens      the door with James inside, tosses the guns into the car, the shotgun has      been there all along, and goes straight down the length of the building      toward the corner, toward the camera, drops his mask directly under the      camera, and heads off to the nearby street where a car is waiting      (cruising slowly) to pick him up.
  • Holmes is reported to have been “meek” when arrested. This might      also explain why he wasn’t shot by police… he was incapacitated,      incoherent, or generally not a threat.
  • Holmes, who is being held under suicide watch in solitary      confinement, remained in his murderous “Joker”      persona after his arrival, a jailhouse worker      told the Daily News.He thinks he’s acting in a movie,”a prison employee told the Daily News.

There is no way of telling if this is actually what happened but we have to take all of the evidence, including the physical evidence into consideration and part of that evidence is the apparent lack of anyone talking about the security camera videos. Those cameras on the front of the building should show James Holmes entering the building at the very least so where are they?

And what other explanation is there for that gas mask to be located so far from the rest of the equipment and Holmes and his car? Clearly the police didn’t carry it down there and drop it on the ground for the fun of it? While it is possible that Holmes did this, why would he and did he have enough time?
